it’s the little things

it doesn’t take a lot to make a person really happy in copenhagen. like the small victory of actually looking the right way before crossing the street, ie the direction the cars drive here, or automatically stepping right not left when passing someone on the footpath. like understanding the amount your groceries cost when the cashier tells you in danish. like (potentially) passing as a dane when saying ‘nej tak’ after unsuccessfully avoiding eye contact with a man promoting something on the street. like drinking tea made in honour of princess mary while bonding with flatmates over irish music. or eating the tastiest italian made tiramisu. the little things make me feel lucky to be here and it’s good to feel lucky.
